The team at Aqua Vista Glass awarded two scholarships to very worthy recipients in Brisbane last week. Rebekka Taylor, from QUT Brisbane and Samantha Downward, from RMIT in Melbourne were selected from many high caliber applicants.
Each semester, Aqua Vista Glass awards a series of $2,000 scholarships to university students from around Australia. For the past two years, the scholarship has been open to those studying an education degree (undergraduate or postgraduate) with a focus on physical education.
For Tom Mould, Managing Director of Aqua Vista Glass and former execuitve of Education Queensland, the scholarship program and supporting tomorrow’s teachers is an initiative close to his heart.
‘Teachers play a critical role in shaping the health and wellbeing of young people. Teachers have the potential to have an enormous impact on a young person’s future.. Attracting enthusiastic achievers into the profession and supporting them in their role will benefit not only the children but also the broader community..’
Both Rebekka and Samantha, have overcome personal challenges and uncertainty, to go on to achieve outstanding academic results. At Aqua Vista Glass’ office in Brisbane, they shared their passion for teaching and hopes for their future careers with the team. We wish them well.
